Information we collect
We may receive search terms, selected bait filters, approximate or precise browser location when you voluntarily use the near-me feature, and standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, request logs, cookies, and session identifiers. We also collect information submitted through shop suggestions, claims, profile updates, image uploads, and administrative forms.
How we use information
We use information to operate searches, calculate nearby results, maintain listings, verify ownership, moderate images, send transactional messages, prevent abuse, process subscriptions, improve the directory, and meet legal or security obligations.
Location information
Location access is optional. When enabled, coordinates are sent with the search request to calculate distance. They may appear temporarily in application or hosting logs. We do not require location access to browse the directory.
Payments
Stripe processes subscription payments. Florida Live Bait receives transaction and subscription details needed to manage listing status, but does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers. Stripe handles payment information under its own privacy policy.
Sharing and service providers
We may share information with hosting, email, storage, security, analytics, and payment providers that support site operations. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer. We do not intentionally sell personal information.
Retention and choices
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for operations, records, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. You may decline browser location access and manage cookies through your browser. Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.
Children
The service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security and changes
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online system is completely secure. We may update this policy as the service changes and will revise the effective date when appropriate.
How to use this page
This page explains how Privacy fits into the broader Florida Live Bait experience. The directory is built around practical decisions: finding nearby bait shops, checking live bait availability, understanding freshness, and giving shop owners a low-friction way to keep information current.
For anglers, the important takeaway is that listings are planning tools. They help you narrow options, compare shops, and decide when a call is needed. For shop owners, the important takeaway is that claimed listings, fresh updates, accurate hours, and clear service details help customers make better stops.
How this supports trust
Florida Live Bait separates factual inventory signals from paid visibility. Sponsored and Featured listings can receive stronger placement and presentation, but stock status, freshness, owner verification, corrections, and image moderation remain separate signals.
That separation matters because the directory has to serve anglers first. If users trust the information, shop owners get better traffic, and paid placement becomes more valuable without making the content feel misleading.
